FANUC 15B - A16B-2200-0391 Retrofit

The Fanuc A16B-2200-0391 is a peripheral axis control board (Axis Board) designed for CNC control systems of the 0-C and 0-D series. As an expansion board, it provides one or two channels for serial Type-A servo control, handling the communication and control between the master board and the connected servo drives. The board is used in CNC machines based on Fanuc 0-C and 0-D series controls – particularly in the 0-TC and 0-TD configurations. It represents the third generation of axis boards for this control series and supports serial Type-A servo amplifiers, including modules and units of the ALPHA series as well as BETA units. The board plugs directly into the master board and extends its axis control capacity. In connection with this board on the 0-C control, specific alarms may occur – in particular alarms 914 and 920 – which may be attributed to either this board or the master board. The A16B-2200-0391 is manufactured as a conventional non-surface mount PCB, which promotes a robust and service-friendly design. This construction type was typical for industrial CNC components of this generation. The board was produced during a period when Fanuc collaborated with GE under the GE Fanuc brand to manufacture CNC systems for the European market.
